Please join us for a fireside chat with Dr. Tina Opie – author, speaker, educator, and former MIT MLK Visiting Scholar – about her Shared Sisterhood framework: Dig, Bridge, Collective Action. Learn with us about an approach to achieving racial and gender equity that includes individual, interpersonal, and communal commitments, and empowers us all to be agents for change at MIT. MIT Prof. Ed Bertschinger (Physics) will kindly serve as the conversation moderator.

Please note:
  • This event is open to everyone at MIT.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the live stream version of the event a few days prior to the event itself.
  • Registrants may enter a raffle for a free copy of Dr. Opie's book (please indicate whether you wish to enter on the registration page).
  • Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees (please indicate any dietary needs on the registration page).
We are committed to making this event accessible for all community members. Please either enter your accommodation request directly on the registration page, or please contact Divya Mathews (divya96@mit.edu).
